September 22

  • The marching saints did an amazing job this weekend at Carroll High School in the Festival Class. The Marching Saints won all 3 captions of best general effect, best music and best visual. This Saturday, the Marching Saints will compete at Huntington North High School. Again, congratulations to the Marching Saints!
  • The testing center will be in Mrs. Heisler's room, room 103, today, Monday, September 22nd after school. 
  • Philomena's Friends will meet tomorrow after school in the Library - all are welcome!  
  • Recycling will take place this week on Tuesday and Wednesday after school. Please meet in room 112 to get any instructions and get started. 
    Students... Recycling bins in the classrooms, you may have noticed have some new labels. There will be a bin for only paper and a bin for Everything else which includes empty bottles, cans, cardboard and glass. Please be aware of what you are placing where, as it DOES MATTER!  Tuesday's recycling is for the whole building and for the PAPER bins. Wednesday is also for the Whole building but for the Multi bins.  Teachers please check your email for a message from Mrs. Walker. Thank you all for helping us make Dwenger a greener place. 
  • Attention BDHS Medical Club: Our next meeting will be held tomorrow morning, Tuesday, September 23rd, at 7 a.m. in the library. Eager to learn how to detect sports injuries? Come on out and learn from our very own Shannon Rousell and Noah Weimer!
  • Please join us on Thursday, September 25 at 7:15am in room 123, Deacon Scott's room, for the first meeting of the Discipleship Club...a club dedicated to help student live out their faith as Disciples of Jesus.  We will be serving doughnuts, iced coffee and chocolate  milk.  If you have any questions please email or find Rebecca Gillett or Juan Pablo Martinez for more information.

September 19

  • Euell Wilson tutors; make sure you sign up on Mobile Serve if you are going to tutor this coming Tuesday.  The new sign up is available! 
  • Are you interested in being transformed into a joy filled disciple and deepening your relationship with the Lord as you learn to live out your faith in everyday life?  The Discipleship Club would be perfect for you!  We will l earn more about our faith and identity through discussions and help build the Kingdom of God within our school!  Our first callout meeting is Thursday, September 25 in room 123 - Deacon Scott's room.  Email or find Rebecca Gillett or Juan-Pablo Martinez for more information!

September 18

  • Homecoming shirts will be in tomorrow, look for a Canvas message from Mrs. Long tomorrow for pick-up details.
  • Don't forget to vote for Homecoming King & Queen. Voting ends tomorrow at noon.
  • Tomorrow is the last day for The Light House food collection. The class with the most items will earn a dress day. Come on Dwenger they need our help!!!

    Recycling Fact for the week:  Did you know that your cups from places like Starbucks and McDonalds CAN NOT be recycled? They had food oils present and unless they are rinsed, they must find their home in the trash! 
  • Tomorrow's dress down theme is Class Colors with Patriotic Theme:  Seniors:  white; Juniors:  blue; Sophomores: red; and Freshmen:  yellow.

September 16

  • Important Message to Career Students:
      If you haven’t already looked at the current career schedule in Canvas, please do so immediately! Tomorrow, the bell schedule will go from 3rd period to 5th period, then back to 4th period. Because of this alternate schedule, ABC Prep students are assigned to the library from 10:07 AM to 11:19 AM. For more information about alternate schedules this week, please read your newsletter in Canvas, or you may pick up a copy at the Attendance window.

  • A Walk for Hope Helpers Needed!
    Are you looking for a way to earn list hours? The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Fort Wayne is hosting “A Walk for Hope” with Bishop Rhoades on Sunday, September 21st. They are looking for help with registration, handing out t-shirts and maps, directing and cheering people on during the walk. They are even holding a free tailgate for their workers before the walk with hot dogs and ice cream! If you are interested, sign up on the Mobile Serve app by Friday! They are only taking 20 people, so it’s first come, first serve!
  • Spirit Club will be meeting in the MPR tomorrow at 8:20.

September 15

  • The marching saints did an amazing job this weekend at DeKalb High School. The Marching Saints competed in Scholastic A class. The Marching Saints received the General Effect Caption Award, and placed 2nd. They missed first place by 1.5 points. Congratulations Marching Saints for an outstanding performance!
  • Monday is the last day to sign up for Tournament Day activities.  Cornhole, Pickleball, Dodgeball, Video Games, Table Tennis have a few spots open.
    Sign up and get involved in the competition of the day. Signs up will be during all three lunches.

  • Reminder:  If you are planning on going to the Euell Wilson Center for tutoring on Tuesday you need to make sure you are signed up for this week on the Mobile Serve app.  There are a limited number of seats this week and if you are not signed up on the app you will not be able to go.  See Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry if you have questions.

  • Euell Wilson Tutors: If you are going to tutor at Euell Wilson on Tuesday make sure you sign up on the Mobile Serve app.  There is limited space for our Sept. 16th trip to Euell Wilson.  Make sure you get one of the spots if you want to go!
  • Baking Saints will meet after school on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, from 3:15-3:45 pm in Room 140 for our Food Safety and Handling Training. This is a requirement in order to participate in our upcoming Big Bakes. Please plan accordingly.

    Activities this year are Cornhole (2 person team) , Dodgeball (5 person co-ed team), Volleyball (6 person co-ed team), Pickleball (2 person team), Video Games & Table Tennis.  Sign-ups will be available during all lunches starting Tuesday.  Each tournament day sign-up is $1 Also, we will have free board games & obstacle course & scavenger hunt.   Plinko will be played in the SAC lobby & baked goods and beverages will be sold for $1 during all lunches and tournament time. September 10

  • The Boys' Tennis Team lost 5-0 to Bishop Luers last night. Junior, Isaac Sarrazine, lost 6-3, 6-1 at one singles. Senior, Anthony Sherman lost 6-2, 6-3 at two singles. Sophomore, Deveraux Miller, lost 6-3, 6-1 at three singles. At one doubles Junior, Peter Lassus, & Freshman, Fox Martin, lost 6-1, 7-5 after a good battle in the second set. At two doubles Senior, Ronnie Buskirk, & Sophomore, Pierce Smith lost  their match 6-2, 6-2. They drop to 3-1 in conference play. They play Angola tonight at home at 5:00.
  • There is a meeting for the wrestling team today afterschool in the wrestling room.

September 9

  • Picture Retakes will be tomorrow during all lunches.  This is for those individuals that did not like how their pictures turned out.
  • Praise and Worship will meet tomorrow morning starting at 8:20 in the chapel. All are welcome: students, teachers, staff. Join us for a few minutes or stay the whole time. A great way to start your day with Jesus, beautiful music, pray and friends! Hope to see you all there.

  •  The French students arrive in weeks and Mrs. Foltz still needs BD families to HOST 6 French boys coming for one week from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19.  Please please please jump at this opportunity to share American culture with the French students.  In the past, girls have hosted boys and had an amazing time!  There will be many activities planned abut there will be family time also.  Please stop by Mrs. Foltz's room 219 to pick up hosting information and to read about the student's interests.
  • Attention Freshman, TODAY is the last day to submit form with your Tshirt size for the JA Field Trip.  If you need the link ask your religion teacher, Mr. Gustafson or Mrs. Weadock.
  • Swim/Dive callout meeting for all those interested in joining the team will be at 3:10 in room 115.  Pre season weight training will be Tuesday and Thursday's at 6:15 am in the weight room.  Please see Mrs. Weadock if you have any questions.
